here is an article from an Irish Newspaper in 1882, which lays out Thomas Edisons argument as to why electricity will prove more effective than gas.

The tone of the article is - with 130 years hindsight - absolutely amazing.

It might give us all pause to reflect on our attitude to new ideas.
